Kirk and a landing party of four beam down to the planet's surface, where they encounter some strange creatures and are immeediately attacked by the planet's 'police', who mistake them for 'magicians'. Kirk soon discovers that the aliens don't realise they are inside a huge spaceship. However, the landing party is trapped - the impenetrable surface of the ship preventing them from beaming back up. Suddenly the planetoid seems to have captured the Enterprise, it's power being drained at Warp Nine rate...
